Valiant Attitude

"Val" is a 2006 Thoroughbred mare who entered the program at EWS in the spring of 2014. She never raced, was an unsuccessful broodmare and ultimately was surrendered by her owner in partnership with Blue Horse Mukwa Retirement & Rescue.

Val showed promise as an athlete, but needed some additional time out in the pasture being a horse. In the winter of 2019, Chanda started Val back to work with the hope that she would be able to return to a riding career.

Unfortunately, despite Val's professional work ethic it was discovered that she has soft tissue damage in her hip and should be retired from riding. She is now good friends with Hope and Fiona, and enjoys her time grazing around our pastures.
